Acceptable Use Policy
This policy applies to hosting and care plan clients, not to a visit to this marketing site.
Last updated September 3, 2026.
Who this applies to
This policy applies to websites, applications, and mail that Strataveo hosts or maintains under a hosting or care plan. It covers the client named on the plan and anyone that client allows to publish or send through those systems, including staff, contractors, and connected apps.
A casual visit to strataveo.com is covered by the terms of service instead. Project scope and delivery sit on the statement of work, and response times sit on your plan.
Where this policy and a signed plan disagree on a point the plan addresses, the plan governs. Where the plan is silent, this policy applies.
Lawful use
You will not use the service to break federal law, Florida law, or the law of a place the site is directed at. That includes, without being an exhaustive list:
- Fraud, phishing, and credential harvesting.
- Distributing malware or exploit kits.
- Running a site whose purpose is harassment, threats, or publishing private information about a person.
You are responsible for what is published on your site, including anything your visitors contribute.
Security
Keep credentials with the people who need them, keep production secrets out of public repositories, and tell us promptly if you think an account we issued has been compromised.
Do not attack the platform, other clients, or third parties from the service. If you want to run security testing against your own site, use staging and let us know first, so it does not look like a live attack.
If we find a site has been compromised, we may take it offline or lock the admin area while we contain it, to protect your site and everything else on the same infrastructure. We will tell you as soon as we do. Cleanup beyond that containment may be billable, and we will agree the work with you before starting it.
If your plan includes mail, or your site sends it, you will not use it for unsolicited bulk email, purchased lists, or sending on behalf of a domain you do not control. Leave the mail authentication settings we configured in place, and tell us before adding another service that sends on your behalf.
Transactional mail your site has to send, such as a form notification or a password reset, is expected. A sudden spike in outbound mail is not, and we may pause sending while we look into it. Adding a mailing tool without telling us can get the sending address blocked, which takes time to undo, so a heads-up first saves everyone the trouble.
Resource limits
Hosting is sized for a business website. Please do not use it as a media library, a public file store, or a platform to resell to unrelated third parties, and do not run crawlers or scheduled jobs that keep the processor pinned.
If usage moves well outside what the plan was sized for, we will tell you and quote a resize or suggest moving the heavy part elsewhere. If the load starts to affect other clients and we have not been able to reach you, we may throttle it in the meantime.
Content we will not host
We may suspend a site that is being used for material that is itself a crime to possess or distribute, for scam infrastructure, for open proxies or command-and-control, or for a high-risk payment or pharmaceutical storefront we did not scope and price as a regulated build.
A site that changes character after launch is a different product from the one we agreed to host, and we may decline to keep hosting it. If yours is heading that way, tell us early and we will either scope it properly or help you move it somewhere that suits it better.
We do not police ordinary commercial speech. We do decline to host sites built to impersonate a business or to route traffic for someone else’s malware.
Copyright and trademarks
You confirm you have the rights to the copy, images, fonts, and code you ask us to publish. If we receive a valid DMCA notice, we will follow the process: we may disable the material named, we will tell you, and we will restore it if a proper counter-notice is filed and the complainant does not sue within the statutory window. Repeat infringement is grounds to end the plan.
Trademark complaints are not DMCA notices, and we are not a court, but we may still remove a mark you did not have the right to use.
Suspension
We may suspend a site, its mail, or the plan if we reasonably believe this policy is being broken, if an upstream provider or a court requires it, or if an invoice has gone unpaid past the terms of the plan.
Where we can give notice first without making the problem worse, we will. Phishing, malware, and anything unlawful are handled immediately, without notice, and reported where the law requires it.
A suspension is not a deletion. Backups are retained as your plan describes, so you can clean up or move on with your own copy. We cannot leave a site online once we know it is actively compromised.
If we end a plan for cause under this policy, unused prepaid time is not automatically refunded unless your plan says otherwise.
Your visitors
If your site collects information from the public, you are responsible for that collection unless a signed document says otherwise, and for publishing a privacy notice that matches what the site actually does. A form we built for general inquiries should not be repurposed to collect payment or health information unless we have scoped the site and the hosting for it.
Comments, reviews, and uploads you enable are yours to moderate. We can take down a site that has become a spam or malware host, but we are not a round-the-clock moderation service unless your plan includes it.
During an incident
If we ask for administrative access, DNS, or a database copy while we are containing an incident, getting it to us quickly is what determines how fast the site comes back. If credentials change, please tell us.
Plugins and third parties
You are free to add a plugin or an embed. If it stores visitor data, sends data elsewhere, or opens a vulnerability, this policy covers it. We may decline to install something abandoned, unlicensed, or known to be insecure, and we will explain why rather than quietly leave it out.
We use subcontractors to operate the platform, including a hosting provider such as Cloudflare and a backup provider. They are contracted to us and are not an additional helpdesk for you.
Reporting a problem
If you believe a site we host is being used in a way this policy forbids, use the contact form with the URL, a description, and any evidence you can safely share. If you are a security researcher, please give us a chance to fix an issue before publishing it.
Changes
We may update this policy by publishing a new version here with a new date. Continued use of the hosting after that date is acceptance, unless your plan requires a signed amendment, in which case we will send one.
Survival
The sections on lawful use and copyright continue to apply, after a plan ends, to content that was on the site while we hosted it.
Something here unclear? Write to the contact form and we will answer in plain language.
